DoD: Army Casualty Identified
Maj. Tad T. Hervas, 48, of Coon Rapids, Minn., died Oct. 6 at Contingency Operating Base Basra, Iraq, of injuries sustained from a non-combat related incident. He was assigned to the 34th Infantry Regiment, Rosemont, Minn.

DoD: Army Identifies Casualty
Spc. Paul E. Andersen, 49, of Dowagiac, Mich., died Oct. 1 in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his camp using indirect fire. He was assigned to the 855th Quartermaster Company, South Bend, Ind.

4349- the number absolutely staggers me, and of course this doesn't included non-combatant deaths.
an interesting conversation with a young father who has completely disassociated himself from the Islam in which he was raised over its treatment of women comes to mind when trying to absorb the enormity of this figure.
two things he said
1) his suggestion what the only reason the U.S will beat the taliban in Afghanistan is because of superior financial resources, but this will only be in Afghanistan
2) doesn't the US realize they are interfering with the law of cause and effect and delaying the transformation of Islan; that it is only when the citizenry of Afghanistan are free rise up against the violence being perpetuatd upon them that groups like the Taliban and the Islamic Brotherhood will be called to accountability by the muslim nations, and that the long overdue overthrow of misogeny and the objectification of women can begin.
