People have shown a willingness to vote against their own interests by voting Republican because they have become convinced that the greatest threats to America are abortion and gays (and birth control and women)
The so-called "values" issues that are used to distract and manipulate while pursuing the real agenda of screwing the people to benefit the wealthy.
