Healing Eucharist this evening
This being the second Wednesday of the month, Healing Eucharist was held at San Gabriel in Corrales at 6:30 p.m. I lead the service and preach, so my perceptions are very biased, but I always find it a truly wonderful service. I emerge tired but also strengthened and renewed every month. Except the time I forgot which Wednesday it was and went home and fell asleep at the computer, only to wake up much later.
So many people in our prayers these days. I offered as many names as I could think of and trusted God to remember the rest.
May you all find some aspect of yourself and your life healed this week.

Heart thread - Saturday 2/23 - updated
Thanks to all who have been keeping the prayers coming. The latest word on my brother-in-law Jack is that they are holding off on surgery, feeding him, keeping his blood count up, and watching to see if it will heal on its own. This is all frustratingly vague (but discussing medical issues with my family has, for generations, been frustratingly vague). I thank you in advance for holding Jack and the family in your hearts.
Update:
Our friend Kirstin (of Barefoot and Laughing) is down with the flu, and feeling too miserable to blog about it.

Prayer Request
I visited a chap named Chuck today. He had a serious snowboarding accident. A member of our church who had a similar incident was among the first to visit him. My brother-in-law had an accident in his freshman year of college and also gets around in a wheelchair and has a very full and successful life. But it is a sudden, traumatic, and wrenching transition. Home is another state away. I ask your prayers for him and his family.
Thanks.
