The weather in the past week has been erratic. Some evenings I have had the ceiling fan on all night, others I have had the heat on. This weekend is clear, sunny, and beautiful.
I stopped to buy more cedar bark last night and ended up buying a couple of rose bushes, even though I had no idea where I would put them. So this morning I planted roses. Here is the garden report for today.

The Thompson seedless grapevine is putting forth tender leaves.
This is a burgundy iceberg rose planted with some purple (I would say magenta) dianthus.
Tulips (pretending to be peonies?). I had no idea they would be such lush multiples.
Lilac buds that first by the back door bloom.
Blossoms of the black Tartarian cherry, the last tree to blossom.
The newly planted Angel Face floribunda rose. It smells as a rose should and I love it. This photo makes it look more pink but it is really a lavender pink looking very much like a Sterling rose.
We are at the time of year when I really enjoy my little garden.

Blossoming is still far away here!
We went riding through God's garden today --dogwoods, azaleas, tulips, daffodils and leaves unfurling everywhere!!! Saw turtles and eagles down by the River too.
The world is waking up here too.

Göran, this is why I know my inner self is Mediterranean and not Scandinavian. I need temperate weather.
