You may be getting down on the Senate because they couldn't manage to hold a vote Thursday on that jobs bill that Republicans are filibustering. But they did manage to double the penalty for marijuana brownies.

Pathetic, indeed! Two of the most pathetic are from my state, Alabama. Sad, but true. That is not likely to be fixed by our electorate any time soon, alas!
Now, my friend, consider that your Senate is a very model of functionality and democratic legitimacy when stacked up against ours.
