Friday morning in Albuquerque

Two blocks from my house, looking toward the southeast (yes, I am waiting at a light, not driving while taking pictures).

The sidewalk at work: enough snow to be beautiful without making life too difficult. Well, I suppose that depends on perspective. There were many accidents this morning and I-40 was closed entirely at Edgewood.

Snow in Arizona? You better not have ice... I don't know how many broken legs there are these days in Gothenburg...

Göran, in my neighborhood, at least, it was 99% melted by this morning. It is the ice I dread for obvious reasons. I am in New Mexico at 1524m elevation. The Sandia Mountains immediately to the east of the city rise another 1500m. Santa Fe is further north and are around 2133m. There is lots of skiing in northern New Mexico.

Here in ABQ we usually get just a few inches and only a few times each winter.

I worry about YOU staying warm and safe.

I bet that feels good a few times a year - you have as much snow as we do in the hills and more than our neighbors in the valleys do... except that ours is going to be here for the next couple of months!

I love winter, but I miss the Southwest.

Ours was pretty much gone by the next day. That is how I like my snow. I could never handle life in northern climes.

1500 meters is more than most places in Sweden (which one of the flattest countries on earth)... Yes, it is cold here now. Temperatures have sunken below what the Invertor manages (mysteriously ;-) The Chimney Sweep is supposed to come this morning to say all clear to the newly installed Stove... I have a fire in the kitchen stove for the time being... It's 16 degrees indoors now.
