oh lordy.... oh lordy.... !
Thanks for the fix Paul.
Beautiful shots.
I'm transfigured.
I remember the trips to Mare Island, my dad being Navy and all. He told me the stories of watching it being made bigger, and the World's Fair there and the Palace... (yes, I'm fifth generation Berkeley).... the original "angel" type figures from the Palace are now reigning in a nursery west of Sebastopol....
Thank you Paul. Word thingy is "hugui" --that's about it!
Thanks for the hugui, Margaret. I noted in looking at your profile that your roots are deep in Berkeley. Did not know about Mare Island. I have lots of pix I took there when working for the Forest Service the very first time.
Paul, the last picture is a stunner.
Yes, roots deep enough that I was the third generation who knew the secret passages in the Hotel Claremont, and that they used to have a circular slide as a fire escape---a slide nine floors tall! Best damn ride ever!
thank you again.
Dang, Margaret, did you get to slide down it? Wowser.
