Jiffy Lubes with bed pans

Bill Maher's "New Rules" has a very serious commentary about profit in America.

"You know, if conservatives get to call universal health care 'socialized medicine,' I get to call private for-profit health care 'soulless vampire bastards making money off human pain.'"

I especially like his comments on privatized for-profit prisons.

Halliburton charged soldiers $7.50 a can for soda, Maher says. I have not verified that one but I can certainly believe it. They charged for meals they didn't deliver and gave soldiers contaminated water.

And I really wonder whether the people who blather about rationing health care do not realize how very much health care in the US of A is currently rationed:

By your personal ability to pay.

By what your employer is willing or able to pay for.

By what the profit motive leads insurers to do.

Money, money, money.
