What's with Chinese spam?

I am suddenly getting about one comment a day in Chinese with links. From what I can discern these are links I do NOT want here. Have the spambots run amok? And this is with word verification!

And now you know, gentle readers, why I insist on approving every comment.

I also disallow gratuitously carping comments.

I think Lindy might have a recipe for Chinese Spam... something with chicken feet and bamboo shoots...

It's an acquired taste!

Acquired is right, +Clumber. I used to have a coworker who was fond of chicken feet but she had the sensitivity not to order them when I took her out for dim sum on her birthday. She also introduced me to bitter melon; not sure I have recovered from that yet.

Paul, the occasional spam still slips through, even though I've turned on Word Verification, but the Chinese spam has stopped. I think it was Lindy all the while.

Not to carp or anything.

LOL!

Naughty, naughty Lindy!

I'm up to my eyeballs in Chinese spam. I have comment moderation on posts older than a week old I think. They seem to prefer those!

Ah, ha, ha, ha.... (evil smirk) You'll never figure out that the REAL Chinese spam recipe calls for a handful of duck tongue and a pickled sea cucumber.

Oh, damn! The secret's out.

I don't know if I should add this or not but I have developed a fondness for the chicken feet. They are quite meaty and taste just like chicken. What's not to love?

I won't tell a soul, Lindy, I promise.

Lindy said...

Thanks, Paul. I trust you completely. It's those nutters on the internets I wonder about.

Traumatized by a bantam hen when I was a little boy, I find no end of things not to love there. Glad you're enjoying them.

Ooooh! Lindy eats chicken feet!

Paul said...

She's gone native, clearly.

Lindy said...

At least I don't use them in my dark-magic voo-doo rituals...

I've been getting this crap, as well. I suppose it makes a change from all the emails I get from someone who is obsessively concerned about the length of my penis.

As it started roughly at the time Lindy left for China I am blaming her for the former. But, I doubt if she has anything to do with the penis stuff. She never seemed much into that sort of thing.

Lindy said...

Sorry for your trauma, Paul. I know that must be a mighty burden to live with. Hold up as best you can, Mate.

I had a similar experience at about age 5 with a duck. That has not stopped me eating them.

MP, I've no interest in your penis.

MP, I've no interest in your penis.

So you admit it is you with the other spam?

Paul said...

I eat chicken but I do not go anywhere near the beaks or claws of any bird, alive or dead. Way too much adrenalin overload. I cannot being to describe the revulsion factor with chicken feet as food. I'm fine with live snakes and spiders, though. Even tasted some rattlesnake sauteed in butter (yes, like chicken).

I absolutely and unequivocally have had nothing to do with the spam coming from China. I support and uphold all Chinese laws. I respect the Chinese government and, as a visitor to this great country, I do all I possibly can to uphold Chinese values and law.

Paul said...

I know that from reading your posts, Lindy. We have just been teasing you.

Lindy said...

I know, Paul. I do. And, I think you guys are fun. I just need to make sure that EVERYone who may be reading my posts is aware of my complete support of the Chinese government.

MadPriest said...

It's not us reading her posts and comments that worries her.

Paul said...

I got that loud and clear and tried for a discreet response.

MadPriest said...

What do you think about Google, Lindy?

June Butler said...

Lindy, I understand well that you completely support the Chinese government. Henceforth, I shall be the soul of discretion.

Paul said...

I'd say "don't be naughty, MP," but I'd be wasting my effort.

Lindy said...

I am hard headed and it has been hard for me to accept that I have a wider audience than I may like. I actually believe that Blogger posts are safe. But... I can write more about this later in the week...

I think that the US should respect the truth and to stop using the so-called Internet freedom question to level baseless accusations.
