So butch I can't stand myself

As long-time readers know, I bought a workbench and a fancy schmancy toolbox a few months ago. Well, today - on a day slated to reach 102 degrees F. - I finally unpacked and assembled the workbench. That part was a bit awkward but not too challenging. Then came the time to get it turned over and upright. Mind you, it is eight feet long, the top is hardwood, and the legs and cross support are steel. It took all my size and leverage to do it, but it is now in place. One more corner of the garage taken from chaos to a semblance of order.

Here it is, ladies and gentlemen, critters and friends.

Oh, the starting point today is that this corner was full of cardboard that needed to be recycled, so I had to cut up boxes until my recycling bin is full and then I could unpack this puppy.

Is this tool box one sexy beast or what?

Before you get too impressed with all that shiny black and chrome, you should know that it comes with a flannel-lined cosy.

I remember when the most macho men in West Hollywood all wore flannel shirts. There's an analogy in there somewhere. *snerk*

Time to run off to a dinner party. Laterz!

HOLY SHMOLEY!!!!! A tool box with a COZY!!!!!

Well, I'll be....

That beats all. I'm jealous!
Enjoy!

PS: my grandmother always used to say that someone with a clean pot can't cook.... is the same true for tool boxes???? not cook... you know what I mean.

Paul employed great indestri and covered his tool box with a cozy AFTER he cut up all the boxes left over from previous indestri...

I love your workbench and your words are making me howl with laughter.

LOL, it's awfully fey, isn't it? But I don't mind keeping the dust off it. I don't expect to do a lot in my garage "shop" but I like the idea of being able to. And consolidating my tools in one place, which will still take a bit of doing.

I was NEVER handy, so I don't think there is much self-delusion here.

And. Fran, I hoped to amuse. Glad you could chortle with me.

The one thing I do feel very proud of is turning it right-side up. It is huge and heavy. I was barely able to provide the torque to do it.

Honey, I am having a hard time holding back and not saying anything about all those drill bits!!!

Susie Sue, those drill bits happen to be one of the tools I have actually used on many occasions. I know you will get all wicked anyway, so go ahead. My mother always used to say, "The better the day, the better deed." She usually meant this was why she could do laundry on the Lord's Day. You may as well let you mind go wild on the Lord's Day too.

It's not my mind that's in abeyance! Just my mouth.

Come to think of it, over the years I have used my hammers, mallet, screwdrivers, Makita drill etc., wrenches, pliers, wire cutters, hand saws, Skilsaw, tin snips, rotary sander, clamps, staple gun, vise, and pruning saw. I look forward to more use of the Dremel and wood chisels in future years. Bill teased me and said I had testosterone oozing out of my ears this evening. How unattractive. I hope it didn't put anyone off their chow.
