Mark Harris reports at Preludium:BBC is announcing that there may be a breakthrough in Kenya on finding a way out of the violence of the past two months. Anglicans around the world have had the people of Kenya in our prayers and we have been particularly mindful of our Anglican brothers and sisters there caught up in both the struggles and in the efforts to overcome the violence. Let us hope and pray that this is indeed the breakthrough so desperately needed. (update at noon) It appears that it may be too early to think of a breakthrough. So keep the prayers going.
O God, you made us in your own image and redeemed us through Jesus your Son: Look with compassion on the whole human family; take away the arrogance and hatred which infect our hearts; break down the walls that separate us, unite us in bonds of love; and work through our struggle and confusion to accomplish your purposes on earth; that, in your good time, all nations and races may serve you in harmony around your heavenly throne; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
