HRC delivers a great speech

I haven't spent the past 35 years in the trenches advocating for children, campaigning for universal health care, helping parents balance work and family, and fighting for women's rights at home and around the world . . . to see another Republican in the White House squander the promise of our country and the hopes of our people.

And you haven't worked so hard over the last 18 months, or endured the last eight years, to suffer through more failed leadership.

No way. No how. No McCain.

--Hillary Rodham Clinton at the Democratic National Convention

I watched this on You Tube after I got home from a Requiem Eucharist for my friend Mark... A quirky, brilliant, loving, Christian man, 58 years old who was partnered with Todd for 36 years. They were as married as anyone I know. We will miss him here at St. Mark's. He was highly involved in many things here, and loved by many. It was a wonderful service full of many versed hymns sung with gusto and lots of Alleluias.

Oh, Susan. What a fitting tribute, and what a heart-rending moment.

May Mark rest in peace and rise with Christ in glory. May deep peace and abiding joy and much love surround and uphold Todd.

Memory eternal!
