City of God Appeal - Day 20

Then the righteous will answer him, “Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry and gave you food, or thirsty and gave you something to drink? And when was it that we saw you a stranger and welcomed you, or naked and gave you clothing? And when was it that we saw you sick or in prison and visited you?” And the king will answer them, “Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.” (Matthew 25:37-40)

Today's update from OCICBW:
CITY OF GOD APPEAL - DAY 20
Our new total is:

$5932.16

The OCICBW... Community Christmas Appeal this year is raising money to help pay for the work being done by the Anglican Church of Christ the King in the City Of God district of Rio De Janeiro. Full details about the project and how to send your gifts can be found HERE.
I'm out of work, so I could only give a pittance to this good cause. I am trying to make up for that by inviting folks who have paychecks to kick in. I would so love for us, collectively, to do something really spectacular (say, $10,000) for the children in one of the world's most infamous areas (for crime, drugs, and poverty) through the loving ministry of Christ the King Anglican Church.

How about a nice donation on behalf of the Communion? Not that institutional thingie, but the flesh-and-blood community of believers throughout the world!

Or a thankgiving gift this Christmas that we are able to give at all.

Maybe a nice fat queer donation on behalf of the Nigerian Church? Who says we can't do irony and do good at the same time (and maybe heap a few coals....)?

You can do Paypal at the link that says "HERE" or, send your cheque or money order in any amount to:

The Episcopal Church of St. Paul
200 Main Street
Chatham, NJ 07928

Be sure to mark it "City of God"

Thanks, gang!
