Letters. We send letters.

Dear Chairman Conyers:

You have garnered my respect again and again over the years and I am so glad to see you chairing the committee at this time.

Because of the open flouting of the laws of this nation and the gradual destruction (and I choose that word deliberately) of our Constitution, George W. Bush and Richard Cheney have given every evidence of committing high crimes and misdemeanors.

I understand issues of political calculation and timing but neither of those considerations, however weighty, can justify abandoning the Constitution all federal officers are sworn to uphold. If the House does not impeach it will signal not only to the White House but to the American People and the world that the United States Constitution may be ignored with impunity. Subpoenas are already considered meaningless. Check and balances at this point in time are only words with no apparent force. Americans are beginning to despair of our constitutional government. It could rapidly be too late for corrective action. For the sake of our nation and its future governance, we must not let that happen.

I urge you to pursue impeachment at the earliest opportunity.

Thank you very much for listening to and representing the People of this nation.

Sincerely,

[BB]
