O God, you feel the anguish that troubles billions of hearts and hear the cry of every creature. It is a very small thing that we should hold before you the pains and fears of your creation for it is in you and by your grace that all things exist. We turn to you for the unexpected grace, the deep wisdom, the hope-filled perseverance, and the renewed energy to join in your work of creation and redemption, to become your channels of sanctification here and now. Look with compassion upon the world you cherish so passionately and upon us who stand before you that all things may be brought to wholeness. Amen.

Paul, it's a beautiful prayer.

Rice: Mideast peace deal possible by end of year

I'm not holding my breath. After all, this is Condi talking.

See ya.

Thanks, Mimi. I have not written any prayers for a while now. Just was moved (and I did not bring that huge heavy Pentecostarion with me to NOLA).

I had the same reaction to the headline about Rice and mideast peace processes. Sounded like a politically expedient thing to claim in an election year and there will so many convenient and available excuses if it doesn't happen.

Your prayer stopped my heart.

In a good way.

May I request using it elsewhere with credit to you by either your real name or BB?

You tell me- whatever you say is fine by me.

And I could not agree more about the LeCondel b.s.

Ugh.

Anywhere you like, Fran. I would prefer my real name for liturgical material, whether it's informal and "my online friend Paul" fits or "The Rev. Paul E. Strid" for formal stuff or somewhere in between. You pick.
