Yes, Diane. Senator McCain gave a very gracious concessions speech, as you said. He is to be commended for it.

I had to chuckle when he spoke of Governor Palin's future serving Alaska, the Republican Party, and the nation. I found the order significant. (Sorry, one last dig.)

Aaaawwwhhhh Paul,

After the best sppeech of his career let's cut him a break. He was a gentleman and threw Ms. Palin a bone before she sinks back into well-earned obscurity in Alaska.

It was an excellent speech.

My humor was not meant as a last dig at McCain but at Palin, because that is the order of priorities for her (though actually Sarah comes first, then Alaska etc.).

We can hope she falls into obscurity but I fear she will not.

Hi Paul,

A note from Down Under - in the last 24 hours I've cried more than in the last 8 years. As an American-Australian, I am so proud that my birth-country is willing to take this step, make this move, to a new way of being people together. Thank God that there seems to be a new spirit in the land.
