A last look at New Orleans

I took lots of photos of this tower because it was just outside my office window.

Here is a shot looking up at it from the street - the photo that finally exhausted my camera battery. My last photo of New Orleans.

And, from earlier that morning, dawn in Louisiana. The building on the right is an office building for Jefferson Parish across the street from the apartment complex where I was staying.

I love that strange spaceship on top!

It is very cool and I never did get a picture that does it justice. They are still spiffing up the building and I hope they do a bit more. I think parts of the tower need to be gilded and the rest left in stone/concrete rawness.

Did you say, "Au revoir, ma belle Nouvelle Orléans".

I'm happy that you're back home for your sake, Paul.

My word verification is "noskies". What are noskies? I like them much better with the vowels included. They look like actual words.

Noskies sound like fun (unless one reads it no-skies, which sounds like one of the direst consequences of climate change). Surely they are a Jewish pastry sprinkled with powdered sugar, like a Yiddish beignet? Whaddya think?

Yes, I trust it was "au revoir." I want to visit New Orleans on a vacation and enjoy it at leisure some day. At least I will know my way around and then have time to relish it properly.

Or it could be a naughty word that I've never heard. I am such an innocent.

My innocent Dixie Diva, that's Mimi!
