That does it: we're gonna find me a paid gig to come and talk about or give a retreat or workshop based on When in Doubt, Sing so that I can visit and see flowering cacti up close and eat things with chiles in them and sopapillas et al.
Headed in the other direction shortly -- off to the Atlantic Northeast! Details (some of them, anyway) on the blogeroo.
I love it here in the high grasslands (technically what I live in, not truly desert) but I am not fond of cacti. They seem so hostile in their spiny defenses. I am more of a wildflower freak.
Seeing the cactus garden on Monday, with so many varieties in one place and when virtually all of them were in bloom, was amazing. The experience did not convert me, but I did enjoy it.
The views expressed on this blog are solely those of the blogger and do not represent the positions of any group or organization with which he may be affiliated. As one who spent decades stuffing down his opinions and emotions, I am inclined to cut loose here, which I believe is healthy, honest, and part of the process of sanctification in the long run. Politics and spirituality mingle freely here, along with theatre reviews, photography, and passionate talk about food, literature, and the human journey. If anything written here offends you, please find other blogs to read. I am here to share, not to do battle.
