Spc. Jonathan C. O?Neill, 22, of Zephyrhills, Fla., died June 15 at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, of wounds suffered June 2 in Paktya, Afghanistan, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle.

Were we right not to try another tactic in Afghanistan before taking the violent way?

What is the end game? We could have looked to history to see that the Afghans outlasted both the English and the Russians, because it's their country and they live there. They will outlast us, too.
