OK, feeling the need to comment here. If Sadr heads up the biggest aid agency in Iraq this demonstrates both that the nation is desperate for some competent channel of social support and that we are witnessing something similar to Hamas in Palestine. Their power lies in being the most important source of social services, a situation in which outside forces are highly unlikely to turn the populace against this social service source.
