At about 8:15 pm MDT my cell phone began to buzz and I fled Russian class, knowing it would be Kirstin. She was back at the dorm, feeling a bit loopy, but otherwise fine. Surgery seems to have gone very well and they only did the right eye. The antibiotic was causing some stinging but she was hanging in there and sounded compos mentis. Well, as much as she and I ever do on the phone. She needs to take it easy tomorrow and will be well on her way back to normal the day after.
Thank you King Jesus and Holy Mother Mary, Saint Lucy, Saint Laika, Saint Cuthbert, and anyone else y'all tend to invoke.
Let's keep her in our prayers as her eye continues to heal.

Excellent news, and thanks for the nice picture of St. Lucy!
Praise God! And Mary, Lucy and Laika! And the entire company of heaven.
This is great news and prayers continue as Kirstin heals.
Praise be!!!!
Glad to know it!
Thanks be to God!
The last phone conversation I had with Kirstin before she left New Orleans, she was a bit loopy, too. That was from drugs for the pain from Grandpère giving her whiplash. This time it's not our fault.
Mimi, I don't think even MP would blame you for someone's congenital eye conditions. Then again, he might.
She was actually very coherent; I'm the one who was scattered because I had just jumped up and dashed out of Russian class. I had explained to Dr Stukova beforehand that I was waiting word on a friend's surgery. When I returned to the classroom she graciously asked if all were well and we returned to grammar.
